Zeus was my first little “foster fail” from Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue 5 years ago at the age of 8. We knew what we were getting into adopting a senior dog, but that doesn’t ever make it any easier. I only wish I’d found him sooner. Thank you, Proverbs, for saving him.
Zeus was a Maltese mix. He was missing part of his right jaw due a an accident with an electrical wire as a younger dog, we were told. As a result, his tongue never quite fit in his mouth.
We fostered Zeus with the intention of letting him be adopted, but when someone applied for him and showed up to adopt him he wouldn’t go with them or let me out of his sight.
From then on he was my Velcro dog. He wore a BadTag that said “I only love my bed & my mama.” Very fitting.
Until his senses failed him, he loved being held with all 4 feet in my hand, eating off a fork, toys with squeakers, barking at people walking on the sidewalk, sunbathing on the deck, and wearing clothes. He was loved so very much and is greatly missed.
