Two days before Christmas 2020, my nearly 22yo Annie lost her battle with hyperthyroidism and gained her wings. Through my overwhelming grief, I was directed to Faithful Companion Northwest Indiana in Cedar Lake. Tom was so incredibly understanding, compassionate. I took my precious girl the next day, Christmas Eve. Even with my extended good bye, staff was patient, kind, understanding. I was told she would be ready to come home the next day: Christmas! Not bearing the thought of someone missing out on their celebration, I made arrangements to pick her up on Saturday. I asked them to take good care of her. When I arrived Saturday…the beautiful box urn, with her name engraved, and her pawprints were beautifully set out for me to see. I broke down again. The man working was so accommodating. I learned about this incredible business: pick up from and drop off to your home is available *24/7*! The facility is pristine. Companions are treated with the love and respect unseen in any other similar community. Staff is embracing, having their own companions so truly understanding. Trusting my Annie to their hands was the absolute right choice.
