Walter Gonzo

I rescued Walter in the spring of 2007. His previous owners had decided that they “didn’t have time for him”, and had dropped him off at the county shelter. They said he was a Shih-Chi that they’d gotten from the pet store in the mall. I took him home, and within 24 hours he’d made himself a member of my family. He breathed new life into my middle-aged dog Mabel (who passed away in 2013), and got along with every person and animal he ever met. He was the best snuggler; he’d curl up with dogs, cats, people, strangers… If there was a lap, he’d find a way onto it. Walter has left a big empty space in my heart, and I’m not sure I’ll ever find a little dog as awesome as he was. Rest in peace, Walter!
