Mickey Castro

  • Date of Birth: 10/01/2004
  • Date of Passing: 09/01/2021

I got Mickey in December of 2009. Even though my mom said she would never allow a dog, she somehow accepted him and was the one who got him for me from a friend from church. He was barking when I went to pick him up, but as soon as I picked him up he stopped and ever since we were inseparable. His original name was Peepo, but we wanted something different and he immediately responded to Mickey. He took lots of trips to Orlando and even Downtown Disney. He had a wife named Minnie and had many children, one who remained in our home and was by his side until the end. He loved sandwich bread and my mom made sure he got a slice daily for breakfast. We never found out his exact date of birth, only that he was born in October. We always celebrated his birthday with a plain, cheeseburger from McDonald’s. He would have been 17 next month. I will miss my baby, but I am at peace because he made it to old age. He was spoiled, and only slept on a human bed atop of pillows. He loved watching cartoons and Spanish soap operas. He will always be in my heart. In my home, he is survived by his seven-year-old son, Bon Bon Castro.
