To my Elle: You were my first love. My soul cat. I never knew I had the capacity to love something so much. You taught me how to be a Mama. We were together for 18 years and you’ve been my partner in crime through it all: college years and college parties (including multiple $100 fines for continuously being caught in my window: sorry Dad), four big moves across the country, two careers and three new siblings (albeit, in your case mostly unwelcome). You were my consistency and my home through a constantly changing life. I’ve never felt a loss this deep. I’m still trying to process the reality that you’re not walking around upstairs right now. I’m so grateful you’re no longer in pain. I knew you were old but you were so scrappy I just wasn’t expecting it to be you, not yet at least. You always did keep me on my toes so I suppose I should’ve expected nothing less than a grand exit. You were larger than life. This emptiness will be impossible to fill. I love and miss you with my whole soul. Rest In Peace my sweet angel. 💔😭😻
