Eli

Eli was an energetic boy – a puppy until he reached the age of 9. He loved his walks but never understood that “spaniel” means “water lover.” He had a plasma cell tumor of the GI tract in November, 2016. The median life expectancy following such a tumor is 18 months. Eli lived nearly twice that long. He was a social butterfly who loved making new friends but never did understand the concept of irony. He was named for the founder of a school whose mascot is the bulldog but Eli assaulted bulldogs – no other breeds – just bulldogs. This photo finds him on the patio at Zingermans Deli, an Ann Arbor institution.
