Atticus

I was told today that I’m a “dog person.”

But I feel like I’m an “Atticus” person. He was never like other dogs. He didn’t want or need toys. He loved treats. He loved being close to me, but not snuggles- unless it was in the morning, when he let me spoon him.

I’m not ready for an actual dog. Atticus was so special.

He never came into the kitchen or bathroom bc he hated slick floors. He never liked other dogs. Our life was me and him.

Oh boy…what I wouldn’t give to have one more day with him. I smile and cry at every picture of him.
